Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

BeCox is an iOS app operated by Ulysse Barelier ("BeCox," "we," "us"). This policy explains what information BeCox collects, why, who it's shared with, and what control you have over it.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated by using the app, and information from the devices and services you connect.

• Account information: your name, and authentication data from Sign in with Apple or the email/password you choose to use.
• Profile information: age, gender/design preference, and your country, city, and postal code or neighborhood (never a full street address — we only ask for enough detail to give you localized suggestions).
• Goals and coaching data: the goals you set, their priority and deadlines, your answers during onboarding, your habits and discipline self-ratings, and — only if relevant to a goal you set in the Business & Money or Content & Influence category — self-reported net worth, social following, and what you consider your personal edge. All of these are optional to answer.
• Personality test results: your answers to the in-app personality assessment and the resulting color profile.
• Conversations: the text and voice messages you send BeCox, and BeCox's replies. Voice input is transcribed on-device or via Apple's speech recognition before being sent as text.
• Calendar data: if you turn on calendar sync, BeCox creates a dedicated "BeCox" calendar and can read your other calendars to find real free time. We only use this to schedule and adjust your tasks — never to read the content of unrelated events beyond their time and title.
• Notification preferences: which reminder types you've enabled and how often you want to hear from BeCox.
• Subscription information: your subscription status and purchase history, handled by Apple and RevenueCat. BeCox never sees or stores your payment details — Apple processes all payments directly.
• Usage data: basic technical data (device type, app version, crash logs) used to keep the app working.

Website analytics (becox.app): this website uses Plausible Analytics to count page views, referring sites, and taps on the App Store button. Plausible sets no cookies, stores no data on your device, and collects no personal information: it does not record IP addresses, does not build a profile, and cannot follow you across websites. The data is aggregated, hosted in the European Union, and never linked to a BeCox account. Nothing on this website is collected for advertising.

3. How we use your information

• To generate your daily tasks, coaching messages, and reminders.
• To personalize BeCox's tone and advice to your goals, personality, and circumstances.
• To schedule tasks into your calendar, when you've enabled that.
• To send the notifications you've opted into.
• To process your subscription and provide customer support.
• To fix bugs and improve the app.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your goals, conversations, or financial self-disclosures for advertising.

4. Who we share it with

BeCox uses a small number of service providers to operate. Each only receives what it needs to do its job:

• Google (Gemini API): processes your onboarding answers, goals, and chat messages to generate coaching responses and tasks. Sent per-request; Google's own terms govern how they handle it on their infrastructure.
• Supabase: hosts our database and handles authentication. Your account and profile data is stored here, encrypted in transit.
• Apple: provides Sign in with Apple, calendar access (EventKit, on-device), push notifications (APNs), and processes all subscription payments.
• RevenueCat: manages subscription status and entitlements. It receives your purchase and subscription data from Apple, not your payment details.

We don't share your data with anyone else, and we don't allow these providers to use it for their own purposes beyond providing their service to us.

5. Your choices and rights

• Edit or delete your data: you can reset your onboarding at any time from Settings, which wipes your goals, tasks, chat history, and onboarding answers and signs you out.
• Calendar access: can be turned off at any time in Settings or in iOS Settings → Privacy → Calendars. Turning it off stops new syncing; it does not delete events already created.
• Notifications: each type can be toggled off individually in Settings.
• Account deletion: email becoxapp@gmail.com to request full deletion of your account and associated data. We'll confirm once it's done.
• EU/UK users: you have rights under GDPR to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise any of these.
• California users: you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA to know what's collected and to request deletion. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of in that respect.

6. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active, so BeCox can keep coaching you with full context. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we're required to keep records for legal or fraud-prevention reasons.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures — encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security on our database — to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's privacy

BeCox is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under 17. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used BeCox and provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

9. International transfers

BeCox's service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

10. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
